Welcome to Sunsoar Paragliding - The Flying Trip Experts
We have been in the business of successfully providing World Class paragliding training for many years. We are a full time Paragliding School teaching in the North of England and overseas.
At Sunsoar we are all passionate about flying paragliders, whether we are in the big mountains or the sand dunes we simply love flying.
Our aim is to teach the complete beginner through to competent pilot level with the sufficient skills to keep safe and enjoy our sport to its fullest.
Why choose Sunsoar?
We were the first UK school to teach the BHPA syllabus abroad and have pioneered many great locations, now used by lots of UK schools.
Our locations are specifically selected for their suitability at the right time of year and for the level of course that we offer.
Don't let the weather limit your progress, we have scoured the globe to provide you with the best destinations to learn to fly paragliders and enjoy a great holiday as well.
We teach in the UK whenever the weather is good in the North of England, conveniently located for clients from the North East and North West - in Kirkby Stephen.
So how do you become qualified to fly Solo?
We teach to the BHPA (British Hang gliding and Paragliding) Syllabus, this develops your skills in a logical progression ensuring your competences stage by stage.
To fly from your local hills you need to be BHPA Club Pilot rated, we can get you there in the most efficient and cost effective way, rather than trying to get out at weekends in unpredictable UK weather, do the sensible thing and join us in the sun!
Whether you are a complete beginner, halfway through or qualified we have a course for you...
Please note that our trips can fill up quite quickly and well in advance - to avoid disappointment please give us a call 07980743864, email email@example.com Thanks.
This is Day 1 of the Elementary Pilot course, you will take to the sky for the first time and decide whether Paragliding is for you. This course takes determination and settled weather conditions. Warning: paragliding can provide a serious amount of fun. If you want to carry on, you can book on the UK Elementary Pilot course where you can learn the basics in Cumbria. After this you can do your Club Pilot Course in the UK or overseas.
If you definitely want to have a go, this is the best option - have fun in the sun - learn to fly on Europe's largest sand dune. We will collect you from the airport and provide equipment, accommodation, and transport. You will be trained by our UK instructors to the BHPA Elementary Pilot level, using the sea breeze. What better way to; keep fit, enjoy the sunshine, learn a new sport, and holiday in beautiful surroundings.
Once you have completed your Elementary Pilot Award, we take you through the new BHPA syllabus, to enable you to become a confident Club Pilot, we include practical Top Landings (not all schools do!). We treat you as an individual, giving you the skills to fly high and stay safe in our sport.
Alternatively, you may be qualified but want a relaxed soaring holiday to build skills and confidence.
At Sunsoar we can teach you how to make the most of the conditions found in Alpine locations. This course will teach you the techniques needed to get to cloudbase, and then what to do when you get there. You will learn your skills at a world championship venue, easy retrieves and astro take offs. We also teach you how to get down in an emergency, and many wing control skills, such as spin recognition, collapse avoidance etc. We will be watching you and guiding you into thermals, maximising your climbs and having epic flights.
This is a great time of year to have some sunshine whilst the UK wraps up warm and immerse yourself in the berber culture, oh, and have a great time learning how to fly. We have been going to Morocco since 2006, many schools have followed us for the guaranteed sunshine and great training ground. Included in this trip is plenty of ground handling, soaring, and all the theory before you do the exam, usually over a tagine. This is also a trip for those with lowish airtime or fancy a recap and some Winter sunshine.
On most pilot's wish list - in the top 5 destinations to go cross country has to be Bir - a Tibetan retreat at the beginning of the Indian Himalayan range. Classic cross country conditions, 100km flights are the norm.
If you have some airtime post CP this one is a trip of a lifetime...
