Paragliding - Bandipur

Posted by

Day 5 and 6 here in Nepal - turned into an epic adventure.

We had decided to travel to a town nestled in the mountains called Bandipur, with the mini bus due to set off in the morning.

A few beers the night before and we decided to hire motorbikes and ride it there.

Most had Royal Enfields I had a sports bike and a couple chose to ride in the bus with the paragliding gear.

Bandipur was a two and a half hour ride away from Pokhara, towards Khatmandu.

Nestled in the mountains this village is a real gem, built in the 1700s it contains pedestrianised streets lined with traditional Tibetan style guest houses from an era long ago where traders met on route across the continent.

The village has the feel of a film set, like stepping back in time - a real privilege.

We arrived in the afternoon on take off at 2pm - to be met with a nice blanket of thermal air flowing up the mountain!

We all flew into the evening around the spectacular peaks, just the Sunsoar boys and a few Himalayan Eagles.

Here's my flight around the local area. Bandipur track log
